The Existence of Technology in the Pandemic Transition

Technology is a science that studies skills in creating tools and methods that aim to help complete human work. Along with the development of the times, human needs also experience changes, which initially used simple technology now began to develop into more powerful technology and of course benefit humans. 

This can also be felt during the Covid-19 pandemic , new technologies began to emerge and competed to attract people's interest to use them.

The Covid-19 pandemic has had a tremendous effect on various sectors, almost three years since the beginning of 2020 the Covid-19 virus originating from China began to spread in various parts of the world. Living side by side with a deadly virus, adaptation to new habits is forced to survive. 

Using masks, keeping a distance, washing hands frequently, and reducing mobilization are some of the new habits adopted by the world community.

The thing that stands out from this new habit is technological innovation that is present in the community, if before the pandemic the use of high technology was only done by people who worked in this field, but during the pandemic almost everyone used it because of demands for obligations.

We can feel the impact of technological developments during the pandemic, namely the dependence of life on technology products itself, such as laptops, computers and cellphones, is something that cannot be abandoned in daily life.

Starting from learning activities, working, meeting basic needs, to entertainment. This can not be separated from objects that emit blue light, such as examples of activities during the pandemic carried out remotely or online, various media used, such as the use of Google, Microsoft and so on. 

Meanwhile, in the economic field, it is currently known as WFH (Work From Home). This is done by private employees, government employees and even entrepreneurs. In the field of religion, worship activities that are usually carried out in places of worship must temporarily be carried out at home. 

This is of course a new thing for the people of Indonesia, because as we know Indonesia is a country with a majority Muslim population.

The Covid-19 pandemic is predicted by scientists to be finished by the end of 2022, although in reality in the middle of 2022, people's lives have been running normally even though there are still SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) that apply.

For example, teaching and learning activities at schools and universities began to be held face-to-face, workers no longer needed to do WFH, and music concerts could be held lively. 

The end of this pandemic has two possibilities for technological developments, including:

Technological developments after the pandemic period will be even greater accompanied by the development of the times, if before the pandemic the activity centers were carried out directly and manually, after the pandemic people began to adapt using digital and began to be instant and automatic. 

After the pandemic is over, the existing technology during the pandemic will be maximized again to make the formula easier than before.

This happened because of changes in the pattern of people's lives during the pandemic and this habit continued when the pandemic was over. This phenomenon can be used as a medium for the development of technology itself, because basically technology was created to make it easier for humans to carry out their activities.

In the midst of the rapid development of technology, especially in Indonesia, it is not directly proportional to the quality of existing human resources (HR), the lack of literacy or reading interest of the Indonesian people is one of the factors that makes changes difficult to make.

This was felt at the beginning of the pandemic, people were forced to coexist with digital technology such as online learning, making personal files online, to working online. 

People need time to adapt well. Another factor that affects the difficulty of society adapting is the age and age factor, parents aged over 50 years who were born in the 1970s find it difficult to keep up with the times. In their time, activities and processes were carried out manually and slowly and with minimal use of machines.

This is certainly an obstacle in the midst of this modern era, technology that develops rapidly, technology that facilitates human work but is not accompanied by an increase in the quality of human resources will become a new problem. Therefore, it is necessary to educate and normalize the use of technology from the smallest sectors in society.

The two things above are two-sided views of technological development after the pandemic, technology that is getting more powerful because some people are used to using and studying technology during the pandemic and also the many business opportunities that have emerged in the digital field, forcing people to be able to master it.

Besides that, there are also layers of society with obstacles and difficulties, making it difficult to take advantage of existing technology. This problem can be overcome by getting used to using technology from small things.

With the current pandemic transition period, people are required to return to change new habits, and must adapt to various habits. At this time it must be used to keep up with technological developments so that in the future there will be no difficulties.
